We are bringing you today one of my personal favorite weddings EVER. No, seriously. It is ah-mazing.
When Lindsay reached out for her wedding at the ACE Hotel in New Orleans, she didn't even mention that she was a wedding florist from Texas that produced beautiful masterpieces. She was just a normal bride wanting to get married to the love of her life. It wasn't until her business partner had to ask me a side question through another email several days before the wedding that I discovered Lindsay was co-owner for Venus and Co Flowers (which I was already a fan of before we worked together in past September in New Orleans). To say that I was shocked and pumped was an understatement.
Did you have something borrowed, blue, old, and new? If so, do tell!
I did! My something borrowed was loaned from my good friend, Mimi, who was also a bridesmaid of mine, they were diamond stud earrings. I knew I wanted my “something blue” to be my shoes and found a beautiful pair of pale blue velvet Valentino pumps. My “something old” was my grandmothers engagement ring that I wore as a necklace under my dress. Lastly, my “something new” was my dress that I had made by my friend and super talented designer, Alex Stone.
Gorgeous
Loving the pop of red. We love color.
Hey Assorted Bentwood Chairs! Thank you to A Sea of Love for taking the time to take lots of photos of our chairs. We appreciate your artist eyes.
Describe your wedding flowers.
- I decided to keep the ceremony flowers light, whimsical and airy and keep the color for the reception. We went with a metallic sprayed, rose gold foliage and white Delphinium for the ceremony and had extra beautiful garden roses shipped in from Grace Rose Farm with the help of my good friend and old boss, Holly Vesecky of Hollyflora in Los Angeles. The roses were in varying colors of red, fuchsia, nude and blush.
The ceremony took place in the ACE Hotel's Dining Room

What readings, if any, did you have at your ceremony?
We didn’t have any readings but Josh’s brother was our officiant and he put together a very quick and very warm speech for our ceremony. We wanted it to stay very casual and heartfelt and he did an amazing job.
Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding and why you chose them.
I walked down the aisle to “Thirty Three” by Smashing Pumpkins. I’ve loved them since the fourth grade and Josh and I love that song together.
We had our first dance to “That’s How Strong My Love Is” by Otis Redding. We’ve talked about that being our song forever.
Then we picked personal favorites for the rest. Josh and his groomsmen walked down to “Wild Horses” by The Rolling Stones. My bridal party and daughter walked down to “Mystery of Love” by Sufjan Stevens.
We walked out officially married to “Wild Thing” by The Troggs.
