There are so many wonderful things I could say about our bride from this gorgeous wedding. Lindsey and I met through the ACE Hotel in New Orleans where she was working under their events department, and I of course would provide rentals for the events. She was always so kind to our team, so when she reached out about getting married and using our rentals..... Needless to say, I was PUMPED!
Lindsey and Alex selected an alternative venue for their big day, The Rusty Nail. A fun bar that meets between the Warehouse District and the Lower Garden District in New Orleans. I knew this was going to be a fun wedding! We provided ceremony seating that got flipped for the reception, eclectic lounge space filled with soft, boho vibes, and highboys for guest to enjoy around the dance floor!

Describe your wedding flowers.
GORGEOUS! During our first consult with our florist, Antigua Floral, I had a lot of ideas and was kind of all over the place. Sara was able to prioritize our wants and create the most beautiful arrangement!
Tell us all about the proposal! Alex suggested we share our google calendars with each other. I'm the planner of the house so I was excited that to see that he had scheduled a day date on a Friday. I met him in the French Quarter after work and we bopped around for some drinks. We stopped into Napoleon House to have a drink and saw our friends dad who happens to be the Chef. He asked if we wanted to see the event space (knowing I work in Events), we walked the event space and then up to the top of Napoleon House. Chef offered to take a picture of us and Alex dropped to one knee! After the proposal Alex pointed out the window and our friends and family were waiting down on Chartres St to celebrate!
How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story. We met at a bar in San Diego. We ended up being neighbors and over the next month saw each other out at neighborhood restaurants and bars. One Thursday, Alex asked me to be his date to a friends wedding that was on Saturday. I said yes and we've been together ever since! We dated for one year in San Diego then moved to New Orleans where Alex is from.
Favorite detail of the wedding was: Our venue! We wanted something with a New Orleans vibe and non-traditional. We did a few typical venue walk-through's and went to The Rusty Nail afterwards to discuss what we'd seen. We decided there that the other venues just didn't feel like us and we felt more at home at The Rusty Nail.
Did you have something borrowed, blue, old, and new? If so, do tell! My dress was my something borrowed - I bought it from LVD Bridal which sells dresses that were used in photo shoots, fashion shows, etc. - someone else had worn it at one point! My eyes were my something blue. My something old was my wedding band, it was made from diamonds in my grandmother's wedding ring. I consider Alex my something new, brand new husband!
What readings, if any, did you have at your ceremony? No specific readings, we did write our own vows that we had our efficient read. It was extra special hearing them for the first time knowing the other wrote those words.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Alex and I bonded over our love for craft beer! It's as much a part of our relationship today as it was when we met. Alex is the head brewer at Urban South Brewery so we were lucky to have a beer specially made for our wedding. They designed a label and we named the beer after our first dance, Suitcase Full of Sparks. For our first look I brought two cans of the beer. It was special to share a beer that we created at the start of our big day!

Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding and why you chose them. Our Cocktail Hour was filled with New Orleans sounds while our Reception was a little more upbeat.
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding?
Having Welcome Drinks two nights before the wedding really allowed us to have a great time at the actual wedding.
We got all of our hello's out of the way and got to enjoy the night.
What’s next for you as a couple? What memories are you looking forward to making together? We just bought a house, are planning to travel, start a family and continue to live in NOLA!
